About Barb Allen

Barb Allen is an award-winning author and writer whose journey of turning personal tragedy into a mission of hope and healing has impacted countless lives.

When Bar’s husband was killed in Iraq, Barb was thrust into a world of unimaginable turmoil. Her story is one of profound loss and incredible grace, illustrating how even the deepest wounds can fuel a greater purpose.

It was her husband’s murder by a fellow soldier and the disastrous military court martial that led to her husband’s killer being set free that compelled Barb to write her first book, Front Toward Enemy.

She knew her four little boys would grow up with questions and that her book would give them a different perspective of her as well as teaching the world about this preventable tragedy.

During the trial, Barb’s articles appeared in a local newspaper. The New York State Press Association awarded her with the top article series of the year in 2008.

Initially, Barb was represented by top literary agents. But when her husband’s killer was acquitted, those agents dropped her with the explanation that the story had become “too messy” for them.

That setback and upset is what instilled a fierce determination in Barb’s heart to ensure that her book was published. She invested in self-publishing, and was graced with an award from the Military Writer’s Society of America.

Barb’s own books, available on Amazon

Today, with three books of her own published, Barb brings that same determination to each client she works with. She never wants anyone else to feel their story is “too messy” to tell. She knows her client’s expertise and insight will impact lives, and she is their greatest champion.

In addition to writing, Barb has appeared on national media, hosted her own podcast, and shared her story from stages across the country.

Whether it’s through her books, her speaking engagements, or her writing services, Barb Allen is dedicated to helping others find their voice, heal from their past, and move forward with strength and resilience. She believes that everyone has a story and expertise worth sharing, and she’s committed to helping people share all of that in their own books.

Barb has discovered that she can speak just as powerfully through sharing your story, as she can by sharing hers.
