Austin Lettner and Diesel Pippert; Two boys with two hogs who inspired the country

A seventh grade boy in Huron County, Ohio, is inspiring people all over the country to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Diesel Pippert isn’t a patient there. He doesn’t have a sibling there, either. But he still chose to donate every dime of his hard earned windfall to the hospital.

A post on the Western Reserve Schools FB page shows a picture of the young philanthropist that’s being shared all over the country as word of his extraordinary selflessness spreads.

Diesel Pippert raises livestock and auctions them off every year.  This year, he heard about another young livestock entrepreneur who donated his auction earnings to help another children’s hospital out.

Austin Lettner loved his parent’s suggestion to donate his auction earnings, and readily agreed to do so.

The auctioneer got behind Austin’s generosity and shared his intent with the crowd, offering them the opportunity to chip in with donations.  Together, they raised $11,000 on that hogs sale, and Austin donated it all to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Diesel’s work ethic, competitive streak, and good nature run strong, and he saw that news as a challenge to do the same thing – and outearn the other boy.

He set to work letting everyone know his plans, and by the time the auctioneer was done, Diesel’s hog had been auctioned for $15,000.

A man of his word, Diesel Pippert donated every dime to St Judes.

The two boys’ actions have inspired people all over the country to reach out and ask how to donate. Diesel Pippert’s school district was so bombarded with inquiries it added an update to its post to let everyone know how to donate:

The school district’s post about Pippert went viral and Diesel received so much praise about his good deed.

People were so inspired that they decided to start fundraisers on his behalf and you can do the same.

Donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
